Creation…. it’s everything and everywhere, it’s how you put your red shoes on, it’s in the garden pulling weeds, it’s the flower I picked and put in my hair. I approach my life with an artist spirit, I consider art sacred, a gift, just as life is.

My art is an instinctual autobiographical account of my life’s experiences. It’s instinctual, it’s a memory, or a feeling or that smell that triggers an emotional response. It’s becoming a mother and transforming from life to death to rebirth. It’s a cycle that continues to circle through my mind and heart to find the connection. I turn found objects, things that have been discarded into art. I attempt in my work to not consume more but to use what I’ve got or find to create. It’s about our community, my family and me. I want my community to strive for balance, peace and a healthy environment. I want my kids to grow up breathing clean air and for them to have happiness. I want to be able to create art and have that be a sustainable source of means for me and my family and my community.

My recent works reflect the people, places, and things in my life. I have been on a love revival that has brought me to question, “what is the relevance of public art?”

A fragile source of fury equipped with the power of creation

I was raised here in the San Joaquin Valley and it has given me a rich resource that has fueled my creativity. My art has always been an instinctual autobiographical representation of my life’s experience. It has been intuition and a little bit of sass.

Currently I am changing into the person I was always meant to be…
